Million Dollar Quartet

Million Dollar Quartet is the Tony Award-winning smash-hit musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. On December 4, 1956, these four young musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll jam sessions ever. Million Dollar Quartet brings that unbelievable musical moment to life, featuring timeless and enduring hits including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “That’s All Right,” “Sixteen Tons,” “I Walk the Line,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Hound Dog,” and more. Ballet Folklórico Fest

Musco Center’s season-long commitment to the expansion of its Heartbeat of Mexico programs takes flight in our 2nd Annual Ballet Folklórico Fest, this time taking place in the full glory of the Musco Center mainstage. Kareli Montoya, who founded Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles in 2011 and led it to become one of the premier Mexican-American folk dance companies in the U.S., curates the half-day showcase that features some of the region’s most active and colorful companies of all ages.

Danish Trio Dreamers’ Circus

“This is music that paints images in your mind, that fires the imagination.” — Folk Radio (U.K.) A new force in Nordic world music is the young Danish trio, Dreamers’ Circus. Featuring Danish String Quartet violinist Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen, Nikolaj Busk on piano and accordion, and Ale Carr on cittern, Dreamers’ Circus performs a thrilling blend of contemporary and traditional folk music from Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland and the far reaches of the windswept Faroe Islands. Innovative in their approach, they draw inspiration from the deep traditions of Scandinavian folk music and reshape it into something that transcends genres. The ensemble has won five prestigious Danish Music Awards, including Album of the Year (2020), Track of the Year (2020), and Ale Carr received a Composer of the Year award at the DMA Roots 2020 for their album Blue White Gold. Presented by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County.

Casals Quartet

Since winning First Prizes at the London and Brahms-Hamburg competitions, Spanish string quartet Cuarteto Casals (Casals Quartet) consistently brings its lively energy and impeccable precision to each of its programs, with this chamber performance being no exception. A prize from the prestigious Burletti-Buitoni Trust in London enabled the quartet to begin a collection of matching Baroque and Classical period bows which it uses for works from Purcell through Schubert, refining its ability to distinguish between diverse musical styles.

Trwające caly sezon zaangażowanie Musco Center w rozszerzanie programów Heartbeat of Mexico nabiera rozpędu podczas drugiego dorocznego Ballet Folklórico Fest, tym razem odbywającego się w pełnej chwale na głównej scenie Musco Center.
